For more than four years until August 2020, Chris Blackhurst was a director of CT Partners, the international strategic communications, campaigning, and advisory firm. He led on some of the consultancy’s most challenging assignments, advising multi-nationals, major UK corporates, high net worth’s and not-for-profit organisations.
He is an expert in influencing media, political and public perceptions to improve the policy and reputational landscape for his clients. He specialises in providing high-level, discreet advice to senior management and their teams. He is ranked in the Top Ten in the UK for crisis and reputation communications advice by PR Week.
Previously, he was Editor of The Independent and for 10 years, City Editor of the Evening Standard. He became Group Editorial Director overseeing their digital and social media strategies and content, as well as in print.
He’s worked at Westminster, reporting on politics and public affairs, and headed investigations. He was Deputy Editor of Insight for The Sunday Times
Chris is a regular commentator on TV and radio, having appeared across the spectrum of news and discussion programmes – from Radio 4 Today and BBC Newsnight to breakfast shows.
He has received several industry awards.
Chris studied Law at Cambridge University.
