The Canary Wharf Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) station is a spectacular building incorporating a 250m wooden beam roof, award-winning semi-tropical gardens, 100,000 sq ft of retail as well as performance space and community space. It’s now twinned with the world-famous Eden Project in Cornwall as an example of urban sustainability and increasing biodiversity.However its true genius lies in the construction and financing, which saved the UK Government thee-quarters of the expected cost for constructing the station.
